This is one of the favourite budget hotels in central Rome ten minutes from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia. From this bed and breakfast in central Rome, most major landmarks are within an easy walking reach.
All around the area you will find bars, gelato and coffee shops, restaurants for your dinner out. Plus, it’s well-served by the public transport (metro B with Cavour station and several buses) to reach other areas also in the evening.

Nearby is also Pinsere, one of the my favourite places for a Roman traditional pizza al taglio, and Come Il Latte for one of the best gelato in Rome.
Casa Fabbrini Boutique B&B
This is a slightly more expensive accommodation option but not a boutique hotel, yet a boutique B&B right close to the Spanish Steps. Hardly in need of any description, this area is one of the most exclusive if you are looking for a Rome hotel in the city centre.
The position, the lovely interior decoration, the rooms, the modern private bathrooms and the service is what sets the rates to start from 250 euro for a double bedroom with Italian and international breakfast included.
Rooms feature flat-screen TV, balcony, free WIFI, complimentary courtesy set, hair dryer and air conditioning.

Cheap hotels in Rome city centre
Hotel Terme Olimpia
With rates at around 100 euro for a double bedroom and such a central location ten minutes walk from the Colosseum and two minutes from Cavour metro station (line B), we listed Hotel Terme Olimpia as one of the cheap hotels in central Rome.
The location in the Monti quarter is pretty hard to beat. All around you will find plenty of bars, restaurants, the lovely pizza place by the slice Trieste Pizza (Via Urbana 112) and the excellent gelaterie FataMorgana (Piazza degli Zingari 5) right next to the hotel and Il Capriccio di Carla (Via Agostino Depretis 61) some five minutes walk away.
The Provençal-style decoration of the hotel is a pleasant touch that adds to the quality of the stay. Features like air-conditioning, TV with satellite channels, room service, private bathroom, minibar and a buffet breakfast with both sweet and savoury options do the rest.
Quo Vadis Inn, cheap hotel in central Rome
This is a guesthouse in central Rome located some ten minutes walk from Via Veneto and Villa Borghese Park from the entrance close to the great museum Galleria Borghese.
The location of the inn is quite an office area, so don’t be surprised if many places are open mainly on weekdays. And don’t worry, you will find plenty open also on the weekend. Nearby, you can also visit Quartiere Coppedè, one of Rome’s hidden gems, and try some lovely eateries like Smor for street food-style Scandinavian delicacies.

Easy to reach with public transport, it’s 10 minutes from Castro Pretorio metro station line B and close to several buses (38, 63, 80, 83, 89, 92, 223, 360).

Soggiorno Downtown, a favourite cheap hotel in Rome city centre
Located in Via Cavour close to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, this is one of the best places to stay in Rome for sightseeing, especially the ancient ruins being very easy to reach on foot. Trevi Fountain is about 15 minutes walk away, while the Pantheon and Piazza Navona some 20 minutes of pleasant stroll through the city centre.
Rooms are simple but modern and spacious, and so is the bathroom, complete with shower and hair dryer. The breakfast, with both sweet and savoury ptions, is served in the room.
In the surroundings of your hotel you will find plenty of restaurants, shops, bars, as well as landmarks worth visiting such as San Pietro in Vincoli Basilica, very close, and Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Prassede and Santa Pudenziana basilicas some 10 minutes walk away. Most of them are beautiful and lesser visited churches in Rome.
Roma Veneto Relais, cheap accommodation in Rome city centre
Close to Villa Borghese, Barberini and Via Veneto, this cheap hotel in Rome city centre is in the Sallustiano neighbourhood.
